Liz Yarosz-Ash (USA)
Elizabeth A. Yarosz-Ash received her B.A. from Lycoming College, Williamsport, PA, while earning her painting degree through a music scholarship. After graduation, she received a scholarship to study at Chautauqua Institution, Chautauqua, NY, and continued study at West Virginia University and Bucknell University. She went on to achieve an M.F.A. in painting from the School of Art at Ohio University, Athens, OH. Her teaching career began immediately after graduation in 1981, at Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, TX. A recipient of 30 research grants, Yarosz-Ash has shown in over 300 exhibitions and and has received over 77 exhibition awards, of which 13 are Best of Show awards. Yarosz-Ash has had her work reproduced in Splash I & II, American Artist, Watercolor, Artist’s Magazine, and ArtLies and dialogue. In 1991 she was selected for the university's Hardin Professor Award, and has been a full professor since 1992. She has been jurying exhibitions since 1981, including the 1993 Watercolor U.S.A. Exhibition, the 1995 Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition and juror of awards for the 2002 National Watercolor Society Exhibition. Yarosz-Ash has conducted 45 workshops and lectures and has juried 30 exhibitions. From 2002–2004, Yarosz-Ash served as President of the Watercolor U.S.A. Honor Society. In 2004–2005, she received a one-year faculty developmental leave. Yarosz-Ash has been selected as a Fulbright Senior Scholar and enjoys traveling abroad. She has visited Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Paris, Cyprus, Sicily, Crete, Malta, Italy, and Great Britain. Her work is in corporate, institutional, and private collections.
