Judy Jashinsky (USA)

Judy Jashinsky is a painter and installation artist whose projects are based on historical themes.

Most recently her work has concentrated on the life of the 17th-century Italian artist, Artemisia Gentileschi, with shows in Chicago, Baltimore, three in the Washington Metropolitan area and one in New York (the latter with sponsorship from the Samuel and Adele Golden Foundation). Works from the project include: paintings; drawings; fictional "letters;" and a dramatization, which was filmed at the National Building Museum. Works from the project are in the collections of the National Gallery of Art and the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
