Mansoora Hassan (Pakistan/USA)

Mansoora Hassan, born in Peshawar, Pakistan, seeks to connect the spirituality of people and cultures worldwide through her arts practice. She received an MFA from Pratt Institute, New York. Her international exhibits include shows in the United States, the Netherlands, Norway, Egypt, U.A.E., Oman, Syria, Tunisia, Morocco, Japan, and Senegal.

As a contemporary image-maker, Hassan's ongoing conceptual photographic/video projects are titled The Dialogue ProjectThe Black Burqa: 911Afghan Burqa: Begging for Peace, and Bound/Unbound. These projects address issues dealing with the current political landscape worldwide.

A principle founding member of the Egypt-based NGO Friends of the Opera Foundation, she is also a co-founder of Creativity 21st Century, based in the United States. Hassan has also served on the Board of the World Bank Art Society and of The New Art Examiner magazine.

Her works are in public collections internationally, including the British Museum London, Museum of Contemporary Egyptian Art, the National Museum of Art in La Paz, Bolivia, the National Museum of Jordan, the Gulf Corporation Council, the International Monetary Fund the World bank. Her works are also in private collections worldwide including that of Princess Sarvath of Jordan, Benazir Bhutto and the Prime Minister's secretariat in Pakistan.
